Full disclosure

Since I am opening up to you all, I might has well let the cat out of the bag.  Along with all the medical conditions I mentioned in a previous post, I also am in need of a full fitness makeover.  So in addition to removing the chemicals and processed items from my household and kitchen, I am also going to start a fitness program.

I hope to create a habit that will keep me strong and healthy for many years to come. Many of my family members have some type of medical condition.  Several of which are could be prevented through diet and exercise.  Some of which include: osteoporosis, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, etc.

So for me, I will here my food and fitness experiences.  I will share the good, bad and ugly truth of the scale movement, fitness improvements and food successess and failures.

I am currently following the Beachbody YouV2 program. I am on week 2 Day 2.  Today’s video was Work it, $hake it.

The whole truth and nothing but…

Because this blog is supposed to be about documenting a journey, then entire journey should be included.  Not just the exciting, or on point moments. But the whole ugly truth.  Since my journey is about eliminating the “junk” in my life and living more healthfully and purposefully, I am going to share every step, and yes mis-step in this journey.

I started out blazing like a fire last week only to smolder this week.  Life got super busy for me and social obligations put me in situations that derailed my healthy plans.

But with this crazyness, I learned more about myself and what I need to work on or improve in myself.  I need to learn to navigate these types of situations as this is life.

I learned that when placed in a situtation where a potluck is involved:

  • I can eat before I go, so the food won’t be as tempting
  • Bring something healthy for me to snack on
  • I need to remember modification is key.
  • Don’t be so hard on myself.  Improvement and not perfection wins the race.

Oh… and for those who are interested… my sourdough baby is still going strong after 5 days.  yeah.  I see some sourdough bread in my future.

Who am I? I am just an ordinary mom looking to live an extraordinary life for my kids.

I have been using essential oils for since 1994. They were a life saver for me and my daughter.

It all started when I was diagnosed with Hashimotos Thyroiditis and Endometriosis and continued when my daughter was placed on antibiotics for several months. I finally said enough was enough. We were going to clean up our act. We changed out all the toxic substances in the house for natural alternatives. This included *gasp* our food choices.

Well fast forward to today… I got lazy. Yup! Sadly I am reaping the struggles because of it. So I am once again cleaning up my household. And yes… my son is not so keen on the cleaning up part.
